BoardAgender Mourns Death of Former SGX CEO and Advocate of Gender Diversity, Magnus Bocker
Singapore, 31 July 2017– BoardAgender is saddened by the death of former chief executive of the Singapore Exchange (SGX), Magnus Bocker, who passed away in the United States.
Mr Bocker was a strong advocate for gender diversity and an active champion of BoardAgender since its inception in 2011. He was always open to addressing gender diversity issues, often advocating that businesses would thrive with more women representation on boards in Singapore.
Mr Bocker was a champion for the BoardAgender’s SG50 Champions of Change initiative calling on corporate leaders to make the change for gender-balanced business in Singapore. He recently made time to meet potential women directors at BoardAgender champions’ luncheon earlier in March and encouraged the exposure of more potential women directors to champions.
“Magnus will always be remembered as an optimistic and valuable champion for gender diversity on boards. His legacy will not be forgotten,” said Junie Foo, BoardAgender Chairperson. “The BoardAgender committee and board of the SCWO extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Magnus Bocker.”
BoardAgender is an initiative of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO).
