She is currently the Managing Director, Southeast Asia Emerging Markets and Joint Ventures in Diageo where she is leading the business in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and other emerging markets. Prior to assuming her present role in Diageo, she was General Manager of Innovation for Asia Pacific where she led a team of 40 highly motivated managers across Innovation, Finance, Design, Technical and Supply.

Apurvi herself has broken through cultural barriers to develop her own international career and she continues to be actively involved in developing female leadership and women’s rights both within and outside the business through Plan W, Diageo’s initiative that aims to empower women by providing opportunities to learn and develop skills. This initiative is part of Diageo’s 2020 sustainability and responsibility targets to ‘Building Thriving Communities’ which also includes ‘Advocating Leadership In Alcohol In Society’ and ‘Reducing Environmental Impact.’

Apurvi has also played an important role in developing female leadership within Diageo. While Managing Director of Innovation of Asia Pacific she led a ‘lean-in’ group for women to come together each month and share inspirational leadership stories as well as challenges overcome in the workplace. Apurvi is also part of the Diageo Leadership Performance Programme (DLPP), an industry-leading leadership development programme, designed and delivered throughout the year through a faculty of Executive Committee members and senior leaders from within the business.

Apurvi has served on the Board of Directors of Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) in the capacity as a nominee of GAPL Pte Ltd since 1 July 2014. Together with other Board members of GAB, she plays a key role in overseeing the organization and ensuring that the company continues to operate in the best interests of its shareholders.
