Gender diversity in the workforce and in higher levels of management and the boardroom will certainly be accelerated if we remove old prejudices. Diversity in all forms may be harder to manage but harnessed well, will provide a competitive advantage as it reaps  a wide spectrum of input so necessary for modern business decision-making.

Jurong Port has always believed in diversity (including gender) in its board composition as well as provided equal opportunities in its management ranks. The port sector has for too long been a male-dominated industry but it is encouraging that more women are making it a career choice. Our responsibility is to make their choice a worthwhile one. We strongly believe we will also be a more successful organisation by embracing gender diversity.
