GEORGETTE TAN

Georgette Tan is Group Head, Communications for the Asia/Pacific region at MasterCard. She joined MasterCard in 2000 and is responsible for external and internal communications and corporate social responsibility throughout this region.

Ms. Tan has worked to establish MasterCard as a thought leader through the development and promotion of MasterCard’s suite of research properties which serve as a benchmark for a myriad of economic, industry and consumer trends.
 
She has done this while also spearheading MasterCard’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts – mainly education and development programs to help empower women and children across the region.
 
In 2005, in keeping with MasterCard’s philosophy of helping people to participate fully in the economy, she launched an index that specifically measures women’s socio-economic advancement in the Asia/Pacific region – the MasterCard Index of Women’s Advancement.
 
She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Committee for UN Women Singapore where she is co-founder for the award-winning Project Inspire initiative. She also sits on the Committee of BoardAgender in Singapore.
 
Ms. Tan is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. She is based in Singapore.
